Jungle Safari
Nepal is also famous
for wildlife beauty. In the south part of Nepal, there is a
flat sub-tropical jungle area called the Tarai, with an area
of 210 sq. miles. The National Parks are the home of many
species of animals. The mountain areas also provide ample
opportunity for viewing and /or hunting. Number of National
parks, wildlife reserves and hunting reserves have been
established. Jungle Safari can be as:- An elephant back, on
dugout, canoes, nature walks or simply watching from a machan
made on tree tops deep inside the forests. There are several
interesting ethnic groups and villages around the park, than
can also be visited.
Royal Chitwan National Park,
Langtang National Park, Sagarmatha National Park, Shey
Phoksundo National Park, Khaptad National Park and Royal
Bardiya National Park are among the best in the country. These
parks are inhabited by animals like, the rare one horned
rhinos, barking deers, crocodiles(gharials) and the majestic
Royal Bengal Tiger. Sloth beers, pandas and snow leopards are
found in the mountain and if one goes higher towards snow, can
be seen musk deer as well.
The plains of southern
Nepal are home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna. The
tropical jungles of this region, known as the Terai, are an
incredible contrast to the towering mountains of the north. In
both parks approximately 70% of their area is covered by Sal
Forest with the balance a mixture of grassland, savannah and
riverine forest. It is here that visitors encounter most
wildlife
